Fayyad honors Palestinian for winning ‘Nobel Prize for Children’

Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad honored Jumana Audah, head of the Palestinian Happy Child Center, for winning the World of Children Prize.

In a celebration on Thursday at the Grand Park Hotel in the West Bank city of Ramallah, it was announced that Auda won the 2009 award for her efforts serving childhood and children in Palestine.

Ezzeldeen Abu al-Aish at Tel Ha-Shomer Hospital, shortly after being informed of his daughters' death

The nomination was announced by Belgium’s state secretary, who described al-Aish to the Arabic-language daily A-Sharq Al-Awsat as a “soldier of peace.” The doctor has been awarded honorary Belgian citizenship “in recognition of his efforts in service of humanity,” said the state secretary.
